Just because something works doesn’t mean it’s safe. In all of these pictures, the earth has been cut off! Your equipment will work without an earth however in the event of a fault you may become the current's quickest path to earth resulting in a nasty electric shock or worse. Please please if you don’t know what you are doing consult a qualified electrician. I’ve seen so many unsafe installations recently mainly due to DIY and unqualified “electricians”. Quick tips: Unless something is double insulated, (indicated by the symbol in the pictures) it needs an earth. The outgoing cable on the next accessory always needs to be earthed. Ensure you are using the right sized cable…if you are unsure if it is the right sized cable that is a good indication to stop what you are doing and seek out someone who does. An earth is the most important conductor…show it some respect. Always check an electrician's credentials, are they qualified are they part of a governing body, and are they insured. DIY’ers be sure your family is safe if you are doing your own electrical be sure to test it afterwards and know that your earth fault loop path and RCD tripping times are achieving adequate disconnection times as an absolute bare minimum. If in doubt please ask. Send me a message and I will help. 👋
